Propane Tank Sheet Metal Modification
Problem: Propane cover hangs too low and catches on brush when off-roading.
Solution: Remove the cover to get a few extra inches of ground clearance. And build a sheet metal
ramp to roll over brush smoothly.
Parts:
1. Sheet metal from junk pile
2. Some fasteners
3. Sheet metal shears
Instructions:
1. Remove the OE cover
2. Use the existing screw holes to mount a new cover fabricated from scrap metal. I used an old
PV inverter case.
3. Make sure there is a slight ramp to it.
4. Paint it.
5. Done.
Pictures:

Original propane cover hangin’ low with a sharp front edge to catch on brush and stuff.

Finished product – cover removed and adding a little ramp/brush guard in front. Got 2.5” additional clearance.
